Job description\tDraft press releases, media alerts, client reports, and content for digital / social channels. \tBuild and maintain media lists; support proactive media outreach and monitoring. \tAssist in the delivery of integrated PR and communications campaigns. \tProvide on-site support at golf tournaments, launches, and client activations. \tTrack industry news, trends, and competitor activity to inform client work. \tHandle reporting, administration, and coordination to keep accounts running smoothly. \t1–2 years’ experience in PR, communications, or sports marketing (internships included). \tStrong writing and communication skills, with attention to detail. \tA passion for and understanding of golf is essential. \tAbility to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment. \tProactive, enthusiastic, and eager to learn with a strong team ethic. \tOrganised and professional with a client-first mindset. \tPrevious agency or sports industry experience. \tKnowledge of golf media, tours, and tournaments. \tExperience in digital and social media communications. \tWork with some of the biggest brands and destinations in golf. \tLearn from senior leaders, including direct exposure to the Co-CEOs. \tGain experience across international campaigns and major events. \tCompetitive salary, benefits, and clear career progression opportunities.

GMS is a global golf-specific marketing and communications agency, trusted by the game’s leading brands, destinations, and rights holders. We live and breathe golf - delivering PR, communications, and marketing strategies that help our clients inspire audiences and grow the game. As we expand our North American presence, we are seeking an ambitious Account Executive, Communications to join our Chicago office.
Role Overview
The Account Executive, Communications will provide hands-on support across several high-profile golf accounts. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build a career in PR and sports communications, with exposure to global brands, major events, and senior stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and organisational skills, an eagerness to learn, and a genuine passion for golf. You’ll work closely with Account Managers, Directors, and the Co-CEOs while gaining exposure to integrated communications campaigns across North America and beyond.
