BLS
ACLS (since the position requires experience with a high acuity patient population and skills such as managing tracheostomy / vents which are generally necessary for ICU-level care)

Job Details

TriStar Skyline Medical Center, Progressive Care Unit, Main Campus Cost Center : 632, Unit of 34 beds with patient ratios of 1 to 3-4, Flexibility to stretch to 1 : 5. Unit staffing includes daily availability of a Unit Secretary and 2-4 Patient Care Technicians each shift, with Phlebotomy and Respiratory Therapy available for all shifts. Equipment and documentation systems are standard across the unit.

Job Requirements

PCU Experience, ICU Experience, Skill set includes ACLS and ability to care for tracheostomy / vents and high acuity patient population, Chest Tube Insertion, Thoracentesis, Lumbar Puncture procedures performed on the unit.

Schedule Information

Three shifts per week with 4 weekend shifts per month. Weekends for Day Shift are considered Saturday / Sunday, and for Night Shift as Friday / Saturday / Sunday, Travelers have a floating policy where they float first.

Unit Specific Information

Navy Blue Scrubs required uniform, Unit Guidelines / Policies are attached. Awards and recognitions include Recent BEE Award Winner, 800 Days free of CAUTI, No CLABSIs since before 2015, Honorable Mention in Critical Care Excellence.

Additional Details

Flexible self-scheduling, several tenured nursing staff, excellent Trauma / Hospitalist team, unit heading for Level 1 Trauma accreditation.
