A company is looking for an Ambulatory Clinical Documentation Specialist.
Key Responsibilities
Utilizes clinical and coding expertise to ensure the integrity of clinical documentation
Conducts medical record audits and provides education to healthcare professionals on coding guidelines
Identifies opportunities for coding accuracy and communicates with providers prior to claim submission
Required Qualifications
Degree in Nursing (BSN, AS, or Diploma) or an advanced degree in a medical field (MD, DO, NP / APN, or PA)
3+ years of experience as a clinical documentation specialist if no degree is held
Current Registered Nurse License if applicable
Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), or Certified Documentation Improvement Professional (CDIP) required within 6 months of hire
Minimum of one year of Risk Adjustment Validation experience
