Description of Work Unit
Veterinary Teaching Hospital
At the CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) we exist to educate the next
generation of veterinarians by providing exceptional veterinary care and service to the community every day. This work unit exists to provide administration and direction of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and provide a support facility for service to the general public and referring veterinarians.

Position Summary
This Veterinary Technician provides specialized support to the Small Animal Theriogenology Service. The role is essential for managing laboratory inventory, supplies, and equipment; coordinating schedules; maintaining detailed client communication; and ensuring the service runs smoothly through close collaboration with clients, veterinarians, and other departments. The technician supports procedures such as artificial insemination, sample freezing, and reproductive diagnostics while maintaining databases for frozen samples and reproductive management. This position also contributes significantly to education by training veterinary students, residents, and interns in reproductive techniques and laboratory procedures, ensuring a high standard of learning and service delivery. Their expertise and decision-making ensure the efficient coordination of complex cases, high-quality patient care, and the successful execution of time-sensitive reproductive services.
A signing bonus may be considered for the successful candidate.
Required Job Qualifications
NOTE : VETERINARY PRACTICE ACT - Effective January 1, 2024, anyone wanting to use the titles Registered Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Technician, RVT, or VT will have to be certified through the Colorado Association of Certified Veterinary Technicians (CACVT) AND registered through the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
