Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager | Service Metal | Maryland Heights, MO

Salary: $80,000 to $105,000/year | Full-Time | Business Hours, 8am to 5pm | Onsite with up to 25% Travel

Service Metal is creating its first dedicated Environmental Health and Safety Manager role, and we're looking for an experienced EHS leader to build the program from the ground up. Reporting to the VP of Operations and Supply, you'll set the safety strategy for our corporate headquarters and warehouse locations nationwide, establish the standards every location works to, and own the results.

This position manages programs, not people: there are no direct reports, and you'll lead through the Regional Operations Managers and warehouse managers who run each location.

The role includes 100% company-paid medical and dental for employees, plus an HRA that covers the full in-network medical deductible.

What You'll Do

• Build Service Metal's EHS program and management system, setting the strategy, standards, policies, and procedures for all current and future locations
• Set safety goals and performance metrics, track results, and report program performance to operations and executive leadership
• Drive safety accountability through the Regional Operations Managers and warehouse managers, coaching leaders on the floor and building a safety culture that holds across every location
• Own OSHA compliance company-wide, including recordkeeping, regulatory inspections, and required programs, and oversee environmental compliance at each location
• Direct root cause investigations of incidents and ensure corrective actions are completed and sustained
• Assess risk across operations through audits and hazard analyses, and prioritize improvements based on what the data shows
• Recommend capital projects and safety investments to leadership, and guide the safe startup of new facilities and equipment
• Design and deliver the company's safety training strategy for leaders and employees
• Partner with HR on workers' compensation and related employee matters

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5 or more years of progressive environmental, health, and safety experience in an industrial setting
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and a track record of building and implementing safety programs
• Experience owning a safety program across multiple sites, ideally in warehousing, distribution, or industrial operations
• Proven ability to lead through influence, holding leaders accountable for safety outcomes without direct reporting authority
• Experience using safety data and metrics to set priorities and report results to senior leadership
• Track record leading root cause analysis and driving corrective actions to completion
• CSP or ASP certification preferred; experience with racking, automation, powered industrial truck fleets, or new facility openings a plus
