Work Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8 : 00 AM–5 : 00 PM

Position Overview
We are seeking a Certified Medical Coder to support a targeted audit initiative requested by Humana. The coder will conduct retrospective audits on six distinct Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCCs) spanning calendar years 2017–2019. This role is responsible for auditing approximately 30% of the patient population—totaling 150 patient records—to verify that clinical documentation supports the HCC codes submitted.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed audits on six specified HCC categories for the 2017–2019 date range.
Review and analyze clinical documentation to verify accuracy and support for submitted diagnosis codes.
Validate coding assignments in accordance with CMS, ICD, and HCC coding guidelines.
Document audit findings clearly and accurately.
Collaborate with clinicians and support staff to clarify documentation or coding questions as needed.
Ensure all audits are completed within project timelines and quality standards.
Maintain confidentiality and follow all compliance and privacy regulations.
Team Environment
The selected candidate will work closely with a small, collaborative group consisting of :
2 clinicians
9 support staff

Required Qualifications
Active certified medical coder credential (e.g., CPC, CRC, CCS, or equivalent).
Proven experience with HCC coding and risk adjustment audits.
Strong understanding of ICD coding guidelines.
High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation review.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
