We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with expertise in high-throughput trading platforms to join the team of our exceptional client. This role focuses on designing, developing, and scaling distributed microservices that power real-time trading and execution systems while ensuring ultra-low latency, high availability, and compliance with risk and regulatory requirements.
This position requires deep Java expertise, strong experience with microservices architecture, and a thorough understanding of trading systems, execution algorithms, and market data processing.

What will your day look like? As a Senior Java Developer, you will:
• Lead the design and development of distributed microservices using Java and Spring Boot for high-performance trading environments.
• Collaborate with Quantitative Analysts and Product Managers to transform complex execution strategies into scalable, production-ready solutions.
• Optimize application performance through advanced tuning, garbage collection optimization, and memory management to support sub-millisecond execution speeds.
• Design and implement safe trading controls, including pre-trade risk validation, automated circuit breakers, and governance frameworks.
• Develop and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure trading platform services.
• Integrate high-performance messaging and streaming technologies to support real-time data and order processing.
• Partner with engineering teams to establish best practices for system reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Contribute to CI/CD processes and automated testing strategies to improve software quality and delivery efficiency.
You will be a good fit for the Senior Java Developer role if you have:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Expert-level proficiency in Core Java (Java 17+ preferred), including advanced multi-threading, concurrency patterns, and Java Memory Model concepts
• Extensive experience designing and developing microservices-based applications using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud
• Proven experience working within high-frequency trading, electronic trading, or capital markets environments
• Deep understanding of the complete trading lifecycle, including Order Management, Execution, Clearing, and Settlement
• Experience building, enhancing, or supporting execution algorithms and Smart Order Routing (SOR) systems
• Strong knowledge of market data structures, including Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 order books
• Experience with regulatory and compliance requirements such as MiFID II and SEC Rule 606
• Hands-on experience with high-performance messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka, Solace, or Aeron
• Experience with low-latency data platforms including Redis, Hazelcast, and SQL/NoSQL databases
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
Nice-to-Haves:
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with service mesh technologies including Istio or Linkerd
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), and automated testing frameworks
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI
• Experience optimizing low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems in financial services or trading organizations
