Position Summary


Nola Bank is seeking an experienced, relationship-focused Commercial Loan Officer to develop and manage commercial banking relationships throughout the Greater New Orleans market. Reporting directly to the Market President, this individual will be responsible for originating commercial loans, growing deposits, expanding Treasury Management relationships, and serving as a trusted advisor to business clients.


The ideal candidate is a proven business developer with strong credit skills, local market knowledge, and a passion for relationship banking.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

I

  • Develop and manage relationships with commercial clients, business owners, investors, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Originate, structure, and manage Commercial & Industrial (C&I), Commercial Real Estate (CRE), and other commercial loan relationships.
  • Grow commercial deposits and Treasury Management relationships through proactive business development efforts.
  • Prospect for new clients through networking, referrals, community involvement, and direct calling activities.
  • Analyze financial information and work with the Credit Department to prepare and submit loan requests.
  • Monitor portfolio performance through annual reviews, covenant tracking, and ongoing customer contact.
  • Partner with retail and credit teams to deliver a complete relationship banking experience.
  • Participate in community and business organizations to promote Nola Bank and strengthen local relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with bank policies, lending regulations, and sound credit practices.


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial lending and business development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial credit underwriting, financial statement analysis, and loan structuring.
  • Demonstrated success in developing commercial loans, deposits, and Treasury Management relationships.
  • Excellent communication, sales, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Established network within the Greater New Orleans business community.
  • Experience in a community bank or de novo bank environment.
  • Formal commercial credit training (RMA, ABA, or equivalent).
