Job Title: Industrial Engineer
Location: Fort Wayne IN area (Relocation assistance available.)

Overview:
A leading manufacturer is seeking a talented and hands-on Industrial Engineer to join their high-performing team in Fort Wayne Indiana area. This is a full-time, onsite role supporting a multi-plant manufacturing campus. The ideal candidate will be responsible for process optimization, cost estimating, tool design, and driving improvements in manufacturability and operational efficiency.

This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and make a significant impact on operations across several facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in design reviews to ensure new and existing products are optimized for manufacturability.

  • Review and approve engineering layouts and drawings, evaluating cost, tooling, and make/buy strategies.

  • Develop and communicate manufacturing plans for new designs and processes to production teams.

  • Create and revise process specifications and develop facility layouts and process flow charts.

  • Identify tooling and fixture needs; design and manage procurement within budget.

  • Provide technical support during manufacturing, including troubleshooting and process improvements.

  • Analyze work samples, develop labor standards, and optimize routings.

  • Evaluate and implement methods to improve worker efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Support strategic company initiatives such as cycle time, quality, and cost improvement projects.

  • Provide maintenance engineering support for machine tools and production equipment.

  • Assist with lifting equipment design and safety procedures for heavy product handling.

  • Collaborate with Materials, Engineering, and Quality departments to support capacity planning, vendor selection, and audit processes.

  • Generate cost estimates in support of the sales team.

  • Interface with vendors, customers, and regulatory agencies as required, including occasional overnight and international travel.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with Catia and MRP systems (e.g., SAP) preferred.

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, including statistical analysis and process data interpretation.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical documents, diagrams, and abstract concepts.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization—from hourly associates to senior executives.

  • High sense of urgency and commitment to meeting deadlines.

  • Knowledge of material handling systems and product launch management systems.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing engineering.

  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
