Radiologic Technologist - Outpatient Job Description Job Title Radiologic Technologist - Outpatient Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist for an outpatient clinic setting in Chico, California. This role is crucial in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to a diverse patient population, focusing primarily on X-ray procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a range of diagnostic imaging procedures independently, operating X-ray equipment, and ensuring accurate image processing and documentation. Additionally, this position involves providing essential basic patient care under the supervision of clinic nursing staff, contributing to a seamless and supportive patient experience. This is a 13-week contract assignment, offering an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic healthcare team while maintaining an organized and well-stocked clinical environment. There may be an occasional need to float to the main radiology department. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, primarily X-rays, at a level not requiring direct supervision. Accurately position patients for various X-ray examinations, including chest, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, knee, foot, and ankle. Operate and maintain X-ray equipment according to safety protocols and operational guidelines. Process images and ensure accurate documentation within the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Provide basic patient care under the supervision of a clinic nurse, including obtaining vital signs, escorting patients to exam rooms, and preparing patients for clinician evaluation. Assist clinicians during patient examinations and procedures as needed. Obtain specimens, including performing blood draws, if qualified and as defined by patient care standards. Ensure the diagnostic area is orderly, clean, and well-stocked with necessary supplies and equipment. May be required to float to the main radiology department as operational needs dictate. Required Qualifications Minimum of one year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist. Proficiency with EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Preferred Qualifications Prior travel healthcare experience. Skills & Competencies Expertise in X-ray positioning and diagnostic imaging techniques. Proficient operation of X-ray equipment. Competency in PACS for image processing and documentation. Ability to perform basic patient care tasks, including vital signs and specimen collection. Skilled in venipuncture for blood draws (if qualified). Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
