AWS DevOps Engineer
Brooksource is searching for an AWS DevOps Engineer to join our Fortune 75 Telecommunications client in the South Charlotte area on their Service Activation team. This person will be responsible for providing thought leadership and a strategic mindset for their AWS implementation efforts. This person will work to create gitlab pipelines, support AWS infrastructure and write CI/CD pipelines and therefore should have strong AWS knowledge. This is a good opportunity for someone with strong experience to join an innovative team and have the opportunity to work on high-priority projects to benefit an industry-leading organization.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Should be very proficient with CI/CD/CT tools ( terraform, gitlab, Dockers, K8s, Ansible)
Multi-tier application ( Microservices ) automation and deployment experience is a must
Monitoring tools ( Splunk, Instana, Datadog, Grafana)
Should have hands on experience with Helm charts and helm charts based deployment (creating own helm charts)
Should be extensively good with Linux and Container based environment.
Shell, Python is a must.
Should have good experience working on on-premise cloud such as Tanzu , Rancher or on AWS.
Should have implementation experience of service mesh using Kuma/Kong or Istio.
Should have experience integrating with at least one external LDAP & SSO providers.
Should have good experience with Spring boot applications on Netflix architecture eureka,zuul etc.
Should have experience working with security scan tools like Contrast, X-ray, SonarQube, Veracode etc.
Should be able to do Thread Dump, Heap dump and GC analysis.
Should be able to analyze code and recommend performance tuning for MicroServices.
Good to have experience on WebLogic, tomcat and oracle databases.
Should be able to write and execute basic SQLs.
Additional pointers to be considered:
1) Deep Kubernetes knowledge.
2) Deep Helm Chart development knowledge.
3) CI/CD knowledge, using any CI/CD tool preferably Git Lab actions, Argo CD, Rancher.
4) Terraform and Ansible knowledge is required.
5) Kafka knowledge is an add on.
6) DataDog knowledge will help.
7) Scripting and automation knowledge is a must both Shell and Python.
Education
BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or related field or equivalent work experience
Work Experience
8 years’ experience designing or configuring systems and/or applications.
Experience working in Telecommunications industry a plus.
