SQL Database Developer (Healthcare)

Work model : Hybrid; on-site Tuesdays and Thursdays in Tigard, OR.

Employment type : Full-time

About the Role

A mission-driven healthcare organization in the Portland metro area is seeking a SQL Database Developer to design, develop, and maintain a modern data infrastructure, including operational databases and an enterprise data warehouse—supporting analytics, reporting, and business intelligence across the organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and optimize ETL / ELT pipelines that move structured and unstructured data from diverse sources (databases, APIs, flat files).
  • Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models to power reporting and analytics.
  • Architect and manage data marts , cubes, and warehouse schemas (e.g., dimensional modeling; star / snowflake).
  • Monitor SQL Server performance and capacity; troubleshoot data integrity and performance issues.
  • Deliver secure, efficient solutions in Power BI and Tableau , collaborating closely with BI and analytics partners.
  • Uphold HIPAA and internal data governance standards; author and maintain technical documentation.
  • Serve as a technical liaison, gathering requirements and supporting agile delivery plans.

Must‐have qualifications

  • 4+ years as a SQL Database Developer with advanced SQL programming and data modeling / design experience.
  • Proven ETL pipeline expertise and administration / reporting experience in Power BI and Tableau .
  • Prior healthcare industry experience.

  • Healthcare experience
  • EPIC Clarity and Caboodle certifications.
  • Broader familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server ecosystem (SSAS, SSIS, SSMS) and data warehousing methodologies.
