Starting pay for this position is $33.00 $50.00 per hour and is highly dependent on applicable experience and skills. This is the targeted range for new hires but over time theres potential to earn more as you grow in the role and gain experience skills and tenure.

Summary / Objective

The Field Service Tech travels to Viking Engineerings customers to service troubleshoot install or maintain industryleading wood fastening machines. As the Field Service Technician you will run equipment installations scheduled maintenance and maintenance assistance. All new Viking machines are installed by our Service Technicians who provide setup calibration handson operator training and troubleshooting advice. Every day you utilize your mechanical and electrical knowledge and skills to give our customers the best service and keep up on all your tasks.

Primary Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and assemble all areas of Vikings equipment using drawings specifications blueprints and schematics including electrical pneumatic hydraulic and mechanical subassemblies and PLC controls.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office / manufacturing environment. This role routinely travels to customer manufacturing plant locations. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee regularly works around live voltage wiring. The noise level in the manufacturing area of Viking and in most customer locations is moderate to loud.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work / Location

This is a fulltime nonexempt position. This position regularly requires overtime hours as needed and works in both the main Viking office location as well as various customer locations throughout the US and internationally.

Travel

Ability to travel extensively able to drive for extended periods of time and obtain a U.S. passport to travel internationally on occasion (75100% travel on average is required).
