Sante Health System is encouraging all Medical Assistants in the Fresno, CA area to apply to join our team full-time at one of our medical office teams, Advanced Gastroenterology & Hepatology Associates (AGHA) in the Fresno, CA area. In this medical assisting position, you would provide top-notch customer service both in-person and over the phone and assist our physicians with delivering primary health care to our patients.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma/GED equivalent
• Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants
• Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants

Candidates should have exceptional people and communication skills, be highly skilled in multi-tasking in a fast paced environment, a commitment to achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and a no-task-too-small approach to the work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. May perform selected nursing and administrative duties, such as referrals and authorizations.
2. Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Take patient vital signs.
3. Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
4. Give injections, apply splints and dressings.
5. Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
6. Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries, physicals.
7. Screen telephone calls for referral to physician or provider.
8. Relay provider communications to patients by phone or mail.
9. Provide general information on departmental policies and procedures.
10. Maintain patient files, records and other information.
11. Compile and condense technical and statistical data for reports and records.
12. Attend required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
13. Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
14. Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
15. Follow all MA competencies.
16. In the spirit of teamwork, employees are expected to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties as requested.
