Primary Purpose :

Manages and coordinates the district-wide collection and reporting of all data required for input into the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS).

Education / Certification :

  • High School or GED.
  • Four-year college degree preferred in Business Information Systems or related field.
  • Combined education and experience may substitute a four-year degree.

Special Knowledge / Skills :

  • Skilled in research analyzing and interpreting PEIMS data.
  • Strong organizational communication public relations and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records.
  • Skilled in generating queries and producing data-driven reports.
  • Knowledge of district policy and procedures regarding PEIMS.
  • Knowledge of Texas Student Data System (TSDS) and Texas Education Data Standards (TEDS).

    • Experience / Other Requirements :

  • Three years of experience in a district administrative support position requiring data collection data entry data coding and data verification.
  • 4 years of experience with the PEIMS process collecting and entering data and experience using coding systems.
  • 4 years of experience with a school information software (student / finance / staffing).
  • Knowledge of TEA Ed-Fi Standards.
  • Experience with Skyward Qmlativ platform preferred.

    • Major Responsibilities and Duties :

  • Coordinates the collection integration and formatting of all data required for PEIMS submissions according to the Texas Education Data Standards (TEDS).
  • Works cooperatively with campuses business and personnel staff to collect organize and format data as required to submit district PEIMS data in a timely manner as outlined by Texas Education Agency (TEA) in the PEIMS Data Standards.
  • Runs edits reports and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of PEIMS information.
  • Distributes edits and reports to appropriate staff for analysis verification and correction.
  • Submits complete and accurate PEIMS data in Texas Education Agency (TEA)-prescribed format to Region 20 Education Service Center (ESC).
  • Verifies data submitted to TEA and submits corrections in a timely manner.
  • Completes all federal state and local reporting requests including the Office of Civil Rights collection and Public Information Office requests.
  • Analyzing and distributing district discipline data to campus personnel for review and corrections.
  • Plans coordinates and conducts campus audits training and support to designated staff at campuses and to business and personnel staff responsible for processing PEIMS data.
  • Attends regional PEIMS workshops to remain current in PEIMS-related information and disseminates to appropriate staff.
  • Responsible for properly maintaining district records adhering to all policies set forth by the district for records maintenance and learning the records retention schedule for department records.
  • All other duties as assigned.

    • Supervisory Responsibilities :

    None.

    Equipment Used :

    Personal computer and all other standard office equipment.
