DevOps Engineer (AWS)
Pay Range : $60 / hour to $78 / hour
About the Role
We are seeking a talented and hands-on DevOps Engineer (AWS Focused) for a project-based assignment supporting cloud-native client solutions. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and automated AWS infrastructure while collaborating closely with developers, architects, and project managers.
You’ll play a key role in building and optimizing CI / CD pipelines, implementing Infrastructure as Code, and ensuring reliable, high-performing cloud environments. This position is hybrid, requiring onsite presence two days per week in Agoura Hills, CA.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure AWS environments (EC2, ECS / Fargate, Lambda, CloudFormation, CloudWatch)
Build, optimize, and maintain CI / CD pipelines using GitLab
Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code using OpenTofu and Terraform
Automate environment provisioning, deployments, and scaling
Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
Define and enforce security and compliance best practices (IAM, VPC, encryption, backups)
Collaborate with software engineering teams to streamline DevOps workflows
Participate in on-call rotations to support critical systems
Required Qualifications
4+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or a related role
Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS / Fargate, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch)
Proficiency in GitLab CI / CD pipeline configuration and deployment automation
Experience using OpenTofu or Terraform for infrastructure provisioning
Proficiency in Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages
Strong knowledge of Linux system administration and networking fundamentals
Experience with containerized environments (Docker, ECS, and / or Kubernetes)
Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills
Nice to Have
AWS certifications (e.g., DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect)
Experience with Kubernetes, EKS, or Ansible
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog
Experience managing multi-account or multi-region AWS environments
Knowledge of cost optimization and observability best practices
