We’re seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Driver to join our team serving builders, contractors and homeowners in and around the Mahomet area. This role is ideal for a driver who values steady, local work and takes pride in maintaining their equipment. CDL Delivery Drivers must be knowledgeable about lumber and building materials and will ensure that all company processes and procedures are followed relating to product deliveries and operations within the lumberyard. It is the responsibility of the CDL Driver to ensure the product is transported in an efficient, safe, timely manner with no damage to the product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of our CDL Drivers
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :
Accurately build loads and prepare materials for deliveries in a timely mannerSafely operate forklift in accordance with OSHA and KBC standardsWork with team to schedule deliveries of materials to customersMaintain clean and organized environment in lumberyard and storage buildingsResponsible for proper paperwork for deliveries, incoming inventory and inter-yard transfersProvide exceptional customer service, addressing any concerns or issues that may ariseBuild relationships with customers, vendors and team membersCollaborate with other departments to ensure that all operations are running smoothlyPerform other assigned tasks as requested by leadership team when neededTransport product / inventory between stores efficiently, safely and timelyProperly strap load for transportationAbide by laws and rules enforced on the roadsAble to safely and properly operate a forklift (certifications completed)Responsible for keeping CDL License and DOT Medical Certification Card current and in good standingPerform all required daily equipment inspections in accordance with Kirchner Building Center safety guidelinesComplete daily truck inspections and logsMinimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Valid Class B (or higher) CDL licenseMust possess or be willing to obtain DOT Medical Certification Card (preferably self-certified as “Interstate”)Clean driving record and ability to ensure proper delivery while preventing damage to materials and equipmentAbility to operate a forklift and other heavy equipmentExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamKnowledge of lumber and building materials preferredAbility to follow company processes and proceduresAbility to always maintain a culture of safetyMust successfully complete all company training and certification requirementsPay Scale
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour based on experience
