Summit is the busiest level 3 trauma hospital in Tennessee. In this position you will be supporting the staffing efforts of all departments. We float to all nursing areas when there is a staffing need to include : Inpatient Rehab, Med-Surg, PCU, ICU, and ER. Once nurses gain at least 1-2 years of acute care experience, Float Pool provides a great growth opportunity to work in all departments throughout our facility. Float Pool nurses need to be flexible, have strong clinical skills, good time management, and sound critical thinking abilities.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Registered Nurse Float Pool

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role :

You will assess plans and evaluate the patients care needs and will carry out physician orders.

You will administer prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors vital signs.

You will monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.

You will instruct and educate patients and families as part of part of a Multidisciplinary Care Planning team.

What qualifications you will need :

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred

Current TN RN licensure

American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS

Previous clinical experience

ACLS within 6 months of hire

PEARS or PALS within 6 months of hire

TriStar Summit is a 234 bed comprehensive facility. We serve Davidson, Wilson and surrounding counties. We include a Level III Trauma Center. We offer a full of acute care services.
