Our client, a leading global financial services company, has approximately 200 million customer accounts and does business in more than 140 countries. They provide consumers, corporations, governments and institutions with financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, transaction services, and wealth management.

Description :

Application Production Support Analyst

Looking for at least 3 years of Application Production Support experience with strength in SQL and Linux. Will be supporting legal, regulatory and reporting applications.

Must have strength in command line and SQL (writing and troubleshooting queries)

Ab Initio is a nice to have but not required.

NOT looking for Network support, desktop support or Hardware support experience.

Job Purpose : This business-critical requisition required to support daily production batches. This requires research and identification from failed batches to resolutions at the quickest time. This is a business sensitive position that requires attention to detail and quick turnaround. Liaise between various support team across multiple vendors to provide seamless customer experience.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform analysis of existing application protocols and software tools and actively engage with the various support teams for the smooth functioning of Client's business.

Provide application support oversight in resolving and troubleshooting problems.

Provide and support recommendations for improved procedures and policies.

Work with various vendors and ensure that issue resolution is as per Client's standards and there is timely notification to the customers for the ongoing production issues.

Ensure that there is a seamless communication channel between the support and the development team for ensuring the production issues are fixed in timely manner.

Assist and support in achieving departmental goals and objectives.

Provide advanced application support to effectively utilize the system infrastructure and resources.

Provide direct assistance to users in using and interpreting software tools and products.

Interact with software vendors to provide best solutions to business problems.

Ensure compliance of all security measures in application development processes.

Knowledge / Experience :

3-4 years' experience in handling production support activities, identifying and resolving technical issues.

Experience with handling ETL jobs (Ab-Initio) with sound expertise in UNIX to identify issues at data level and trace file transfers from one system to another.

Should have good expertise in database level analysis to trace issues to closure. Also, should have extensive experience in writing complex and efficient SQL DML statements.

Should be aware of various scheduling tool.

Managing ticketed query system and ensuring comprehensive database of queries and resolutions is kept up to date.

Delivering regular and customized training to teams within the business

Experience on shell scripting would be added advantage

It is desired but not mandatory to have experience with ETL / Database Development tools.

Skills :

Strong design & execution bend of mind to help resolve complex technical issues.

Oversees process for technical issue escalation; prioritizes technical issue resolution.

Oversees resolution of major system outages ensuring communication to interested parties.

Start of day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handover.

Act as a liaison between users / traders, interfacing internal technology groups and vendors.

Provides technical oversight across systems and applications, leverages skills across apps support area.

Participate in application releases, from development, testing and deployment into production.

Develop and maintain technical support documentation.

Ticketing tools like ServiceNow

Scheduling tools like AutoSys.

Thorough understanding of ETL and relational database methodologies.

Software engineering best practices

Passion for technology and self- starter

Strong writing, communication, time-management, decision-making, and basic task organization skills

Ability to prioritize and manage schedules under tight, SLA's.

Performs other duties and functions as assigned Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Banking, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications :

First class degree with excellent academic qualifications. B.E / B.Tech. in Comp science, IT, or other engineering disciplines from a reputed institute with relevant work experience.
