Responsibilities :
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Collaborate on annual budgeting and forecasting with emphasis on medical and administrative cost driversBuild and refine long-term (5-year) financial models to inform product development and pricing strategiesContribute to capital adequacy analyses including RBC and BCAR methodologiesAnalyze claims trends, utilization patterns, and program impact on financial performanceEvaluate cost-benefit of Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives and other operational strategiesLeadership & Continuous Improvement
Supervise and mentor junior finance team membersChampion process improvements that drive efficiency and accuracyUphold strong internal controls across financial functionsFinancial Reporting & Internal Metrics
Ensure accurate internal reporting of premiums, claims incurred (incl. IBNR), and administrative expensesMaintain and analyze MLR metrics in alignment with ACA requirements and internal benchmarksSupport regulatory filings and audit readiness effortsStay abreast of evolving financial regulations and their implications on reportingQualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field4+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, ideally with exposure to both FP&A and reportingStrong command of US GAAP and financial modelingAdvanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday)Strong analytical mindset with attention to detailExcellent communication skills – able to translate complex data into actionable insightsCPA, CFA, or MBA, preferred2-3 years in the health insurance industry, preferredExperience in a public company environment, preferredBackground in public accounting, preferredPrior supervisory or team lead experience, preferredKnowledge of claims reserving concepts, MLR, and underwriting principles, preferred
