Code Enforcement Supervisor

The Clark County Code Enforcement - Public Response Office, a division within the Administrative Services Department, is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the position of Code Enforcement Supervisor. The Public Response Office provides code enforcement for all of unincorporated Clark County. As a member of our team, you will oversee the work of Code Enforcement Specialists as they enforce zoning, building, solid waste, nuisance abatement, signs, short term rentals, and specified codes to ensure the safety of the community.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and / or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources. Human Resources reserves the right to call only the most qualified applicants to the selection process. Some positions may be confidential positions and are excluded from membership in the union. Minimum Requirements :

• Education and Experience : Equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college level course work in construction technology, pre-engineering, business or a field related to the work AND four (4) years of full-time experience in enforcing zoning, building or related codes and regulations, one (1) year of which includes lead or supervisory experience, preferably in a public agency setting. Additional experience as outlined above may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis. All qualifying education and each experience must be clearly documented in the "Education" and "Work Experience" sections of the application.
• Working Conditions : Work out of doors in various weather conditions and with exposure to potentially hazardous materials, animals, insects and / or noxious plants.
• Licensing and Certification : Must possess of a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of appointment. Possession of a valid ICC or other nationally recognized inspection certificate as a building and mechanical inspector and one recognized zoning code enforcement certification is preferred.
• Background Investigation : Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.
• Citizenship : Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please note, Clark County does not provide H1B visa sponsorships or transfers for any employment positions.
• Medical Examination : Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician.
• Pre-employment Drug Testing : Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
