Join us-and be part of something built to last.Compensation: $100-140k (DOE)Location: Centennial, CO or Cheyenne, WyomingFLSA Exemption: ExemptSchedule: Full-time; hours may vary based on project and client needsBriefly explain job detailsCMT Technical Services is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to serve in a leadership role within our Geotechnical Engineering Division in Colorado or Wyoming. This position is responsible for managing geotechnical projects, providing technical leadership to engineering and field staff, and supporting business development initiatives.The ideal candidate will bring extensive geotechnical engineering experience, strong client relationships, and the ability to guide teams through complex geotechnical investigations and design projects while ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.What you'll be doing:Develop proposals and determine cost estimates and schedules for geotechnical investigations and engineering servicesPlan and oversee geotechnical exploration programs, including drilling, sampling, and field investigationsProvide direction and technical leadership to field inspectors, laboratory staff, and engineering personnelAnalyze geotechnical data and perform engineering calculations related to soil mechanics and foundation designPrepare and review geotechnical engineering reports, recommendations, and technical documentationInteract with clients, contractors, and internal team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within scopeMaintain and expand existing client relationships while developing new business opportunitiesSupport marketing and business development efforts, including proposal preparation and networking activitiesEvaluate team performance and identify training and development needs for technical staffEnsure projects meet CMT quality standards, safety policies, and applicable codes and regulationsSupport occasional administrative or operational tasks as needed within the engineering teamWhat you have:Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related fieldMinimum 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, including work within the State of ColoradoStrong understanding of soil mechanics, geotechnical analysis, and foundation engineeringExperience overseeing geotechnical investigations, field testing, and engineering design recommendationsKnowledge of construction materials testing and special inspection servicesValid Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of ColoradoStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively in team environments and leadership rolesValid driver's license with acceptable driving recordWhat will make you stand out:Established client relationships and revenue-generating experience in geotechnical engineering and materials testing servicesExperience managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex construction projectsStrong business development background with the ability to expand service offerings and grow market shareExperience working on large infrastructure, commercial, or transportation projectsAbility to mentor junior engineers and technical staffPreferred Certification(s):Professional Engineer (PE) – Colorado (required)Additional state PE licenses (a plus for multi-state operations)Professional memberships such as ASCE, ACI, NICET, or CDOT certificationsCMT Technical Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
