Job Title : Respiratory Therapist

\n Facility : Mayers Memorial District Hospital

\n Shift : M-Th 10-hour days with call on Fri, Sat & Sun; then switch to nights M-Th 10-hour days with Fri, Sat & Sun off. This rotation repeats.

\n Start Date : 24 / 11 / 2025

\n Assignment Length : Not Specified

\n Contract Duration : 13.0 weeks

\n Weekly Stipend : $1,246.00

\n Weekly Taxable Pay : $2,156.22

\n Public Description : ASAP scheduled end date 23 / 02 / 2026

\n\n CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS \n \n

  • Valid and current licensure in the State of California as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (must be active and current).\n
  • Required certifications within 6 months of hire : ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, OSHA Respirator Fit Testing certification (must be obtained within 3 months of hire).\n
  • \n\n Preferred Education & Experience \n \n

  • High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by at least an associate’s degree in Respiratory Care.\n
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience; strong recommendations considered for new graduates.\n
  • Mandatory PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) experience.\n

  • Strong clinical skills in respiratory assessment and therapy.\n
  • Proficiency in advanced procedures such as intubations, aerosol delivery, and patient assessments.\n
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.\n

  • Flexibility to adapt to shift rotations and diverse clinical settings.\n
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs., sit, stand, and perform intermittent movements during shifts.\n

  • \n\n Key Responsibilities \n \n

  • Administer and monitor respiratory treatments per physician orders.\n
  • Conduct respiratory assessments and develop individualized care plans.\n
  • Assist with advanced airway procedures, including intubations and aerosol therapy.\n
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and communicate clearly with patients.\n
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and patient progress.\n
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, including OSHA and PPE protocols.\n
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations.\n
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.\n
  • Support patient education and discharge planning as needed.\n
  • Perform additional duties to support departmental operations.\n
