Perfusionist Certified - Heart & Vascular Perfusion

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Responsible for operation and maintenance of the heart-lung machine, cardiopulmonary support devices including intra-aortic balloon pump, ventricular assist devices and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation as well as blood loss management equipment such as Cell Saver and Rapid Infuser.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Graduate of an American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) accredited school of perfusion technology required.
• Current certification by the ABCP as a Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) or attain CCP status within one (1) year of graduation from an ABCP accredited school of perfusion technology required.
• A valid, current license in the State of Pennsylvania or licensure eligible is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology, Physiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Nursing, Perfusion Sciences or related field preferred.
