Job Title : Marketing & Talent Engagement Manager

Location : Birmingham, AL (In-Office with Occasional Travel)

Reports To : Vice President of Preconstruction

Position Overview

CBI Construction Services is looking for a dynamic, people-focused professional to serve as our Marketing & Talent Engagement Manager . This is a new and highly visible position that will play a key role in shaping our internal culture, elevating our brand presence, and strengthening our recruitment efforts across the Southeast.

This is more than just a marketing or recruiting position. It is about telling the CBI story, who we are, what we value, and why we are one of the premier multifamily general contractors in the region. In this role, you will lead efforts to celebrate our people, connect with future talent, and ensure our brand is consistently represented across all platforms, from job sites to social media.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

1. Intra-Company Communication & Culture Champion

  • Promote CBIs Core Values by organizing recognition programs, including but not limited to Core Value Awards and employee referral incentives
  • Develop and distribute a monthly internal newsletter highlighting employee stories, project milestones, and company news
  • Coordinate internal events such as team-building outings, appreciation lunches, new hire welcomes, and milestone celebrations
  • Support the onboarding experience by ensuring new employees feel connected to the CBI mission and culture from day one

2. On-Campus & Early Career Recruiting

  • Coordinate CBIs presence at university career fairs and maintain strong relationships with university career centers
  • Act as the liaison with third-party recruiters and internal hiring managers
  • Proactively source candidates via platforms like LinkedIn and other recruiting databases
  • Build and maintain relationships with professors, student organizations, and alumni groups to create pipelines to attract top talent
  • Track and report on candidate outreach, interviews, and hiring outcomes
  • 3. Brand Management & External Communications

  • Lead social media strategy and execution (LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.), highlighting project progress, team culture, recruiting opportunities, and community involvement
  • Collaborate with leadership and project teams to ensure the CBI brand is represented professionally on job sites, in photos, and in public spaces
  • Manage company branding and updates on the company website and digital assets in coordination with external partners
  • 4. Performance Accolades & Public Relations

  • Oversee the production of press releases highlighting major milestones, promotions, project launches, and community impact stories
  • Manage award submissions for both team and project recognition (ENR, local business journals, ABC / EIC, etc.)
  • Ensure notable achievements are celebrated both internally and externally
  • Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, recruiting, communications, or a similar role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a knack for storytelling
  • Passionate about construction, company culture, and the power of people
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Recruiter, Canva, Mailchimp, or similar tools is a plus
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites and college campuses
