Travel Nurse Job Details

Job Title : Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Travel Assignment

Location : Carlsbad, NM 88220 (New Mexico healthcare jobs)

Facility : 99-bed hospital, 6 operating rooms

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 24 / 2025 – End : 2 / 23 / 2026)

Shift : Days, 7 : 00 AM – 3 : 30 PM, Monday to Friday

Hours per Week : 40

Shift Duration : 8-hour shifts

On-Call Requirements : Minimum 1 weekday per week, weekend rotation; on-call shifts Monday–Friday 3 : 30 PM–7 : 00 AM, Saturday & Sunday 7 : 00 AM–7 : 00 AM

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1,980 - $2,120

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible for New Mexico nursing jobs)

BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience in a hospital or surgical center

Clinical experience in general, orthopedic, OBGYN, podiatry, plastics, endoscopy, and trauma surgical cases

Experience providing both adult and pediatric patient care in the operating room

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

Circulate and assist in a wide range of surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and compliance with healthcare regulations

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care

Maintain efficient case flow, manage surgical supplies, and ensure timely procedures

Communicate effectively with patients' families and update physician preference cards as needed

Scrub and assist physicians during surgical cases as required

Supervise and support clinical staff delivering patient care in the operating room
