Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist (PT) with California licensure and BLS certification for a full-time inpatient rehab role with acute, inpatient, and outpatient responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Hospital setting with primary focus on acute care and inpatient rehab, with the possibility to float to outpatient rehab as needed
  • Work schedule is Friday through Tuesday, 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM, five 8-hour shifts per week
  • May float between inpatient, acute rehab unit (ARU), and outpatient departments
  • Patients include those recovering from disease or injury requiring physical rehabilitation
  • Epic experience is preferred for electronic health records documentation
  • Responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing individualized physical therapy treatment plans
  • Duties include evaluating patients, developing and updating plans of care, and overseeing charge documentation
  • Provides clinical supervision to assistants and aides and may serve as a clinical instructor for students
  • Required to complete departmental e-learning modules during orientation
  • Expected to comply with all state, federal, and organizational regulations regarding patient care and documentation
  • Candidates returning to this facility as travelers must have a minimum one-year break in service
  • Only one holiday approved for time off during the contract
  • A clean and safe environment must be maintained, including proper equipment cleaning and use
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and compliance with PHI regulations

    • Requirements

  • Active CA Physical Therapist License required if applicable
  • Current BLS certification from AHA required
  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program
  • Minimum two years of recent PT experience is required
  • Must provide copies of certifications at the time of consideration
  • Candidates must be able to report for lab work within 3-5 days of signing
  • Must meet a 50 mile distance requirement from the facility; locals accepted at a local rate
  • Epic charting experience preferred
