Located in Morristown, TN and within an hour of Knoxville, Precision Boilers is a leader and innovator in Electric Steam and Hot Water Boilers, Gas Fired Steam and Hot Water Boilers, Deaerators, and Boiler Room Accessory products for nearly 75 years and continues to pursue strong growth plans within the marketplace. As the premier designer and manufacturer of high voltage electrode boilers, resistance electric boilers, gas fired boiler products, and feedwater accessory equipment, we have solutions that are energy efficient, innovative & highly respected in the industry.

This is not a remote role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned.

  • Work directly with Sales and Manufacturing to determine priorities and develop production schedules.
  • Independently perform the full range of engineering work assignments.
  • Follow customer specifications to complete product designs.
  • Work with Mechanical Designers to select components, develop drawings and maintain as-built revisions.
  • Advise Mechanical Designers in the creating and modifying of 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks.
  • Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks or AutoCAD as needed.
  • Select proper components and generate BOM's.
  • Provide needed calculations for tanks and / or pressure piping components.
  • Work with vendors to introduce new and cost-effective products into our systems.
  • Participate in the inspections of products in various stages of the production process.
  • Help maintain our ASME Quality Control System.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Initiatives to develop better procedures and increase efficiency.
  • Assist Project Management with customer interface and act as a SME for Mechanical Design queries.
  • Create and update internal documents for Engineering Procedures and Training.

SUPERVISOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervising the work of staff, exercising technical and administrative oversight.
  • Providing project direction and planning to best utilize your team.
  • Providing instruction for performance improvement and development to your team members.
  • Developing training plans and facilitating the growth of your team.
  • Evaluating performance and completing performance reviews.
  • Recommending discipline, as necessary, to maintain a high standard of work.
  • Monitoring attendance, approving timesheets, and scheduling PTO to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Establishing priorities, tracking project schedules, and developing work processes and procedures to meet goals.
  • Creating and promoting an equitable workplace that demonstrates an environment respectful of every teammate.
  • Estimating staffing and resource needs to effectively execute projects.
  • Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical background.
  • Strong background using software for 3D modeling.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience with capital equipment is preferred.
  • A working knowledge of ASME Pressure Vessel Codes, boilers, heat transfer equipment, or auxiliary boiler room equipment is preferred
  • Skills and Abilities :

  • Knowledge and experience with PDM or PLM software is preferred.
  • Experience with Codeware Compress is preferred.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and clearly.
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative environment and be a team player
  • Physical Demands :

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing or walking.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas in the facility.
  • Must be able to quickly traverse manufacturing areas.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, crawl, stretch, lay, and squat..
