Job Details

  • The Clinical Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering safe, effective, quality nursing care according to the Department of Nursing's philosophy and goals.
  • Utilizes Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, Relationship Based Care, and NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model.
  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for all assigned patients.
  • Makes determinations regarding patient progress toward goals.
  • Utilizes therapeutic professional relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote health.
  • Provides care based on physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs of patients.
  • Transfers scientific knowledge from social, biological, and physical sciences in applying the nursing process.
  • Provides care consistent with interdisciplinary plans and Relationship Based Care principles.
  • Assesses patient physical and psychosocial condition continuously and formulates nursing diagnoses.
  • Collaborates with clients to formulate care plans ensuring safety, comfort, hygiene, protection, disease prevention, and restorative measures.
  • Performs essential nursing skills, explains treatments, and educates patients and families.
  • Evaluates care plan effectiveness and modifies as needed.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and safe use of equipment, instrumentation, and medications.
  • Delegates tasks based on legal scopes of practice and supervises care team members.
  • Acts as patient advocate to improve healthcare and support informed decisions.
  • Provides culturally competent, age-appropriate, ethical care within legal standards.
  • Coordinates patient care activities with nurses, physicians, allied health professionals, and ancillary care team members.

  • Assists in resolution of complaints aiming for immediate resolution if possible.
  • Investigates physician, employee, and patient complaints and provides information to CNIV or Clinical Manager.
  • Performs all physical duties of the job including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and fine motor skills.
