POSITION SUMMARY
The Regional Boston Manager plays a critical leadership role within Barrel One Collective. This position oversees all hospitality operations for Harpoon Boston, including the Beer Hall, tasting rooms, container bars, events, brand activations, tours, retail, and the Harpoon Common operation on Boston Common. This leader is responsible for building a cohesive culture, elevating service standards, strengthening operational discipline, and ensuring financial performance across all Boston-based hospitality businesses.
This role requires a seasoned operator with strong multi-unit experience, the ability to drive consistency in high-volume environments, and the leadership presence to inspire and hold teams accountable. This individual is the steward of the guest journey at Harpoon Boston and Harpoon Common, ensuring that both locations operate with excellence, deliver welcoming and thoughtful hospitality, and reflect the spirit and reputation of the Harpoon brand.
The Regional Boston Manager is ultimately accountable for guest satisfaction, team development, financial results, operational consistency, and the overall health of the hospitality business across these two high-profile Boston locations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Culture Integration
- Lead all management teams across Harpoon Boston and Harpoon Common, aligning culture, expectations, and performance standards
- Inspire, coach, and retain a high-performing team across FOH, BOH, bar, and events operations
- Execute consistent hiring, onboarding, and training practices that reflect B1C values and guest standards
- Foster a culture of trust, accountability, and open communication through regular feedback and coaching
- Maintain visible leadership presence at both sites, ensuring that managers and staff feel supported on peak days and during high-volume events
Operational Oversight & Execution
Oversee day-to-day operations across the Beer Hall, outdoor spaces, tours, retail, Harpoon Common, container bars, and all guest-facing programmingEnsure compliance with health, safety, licensing, and cleanliness standards in collaboration with kitchen leadershipEnsure consistent execution of service standards and operational systems across both locationsPartner with kitchen and bar leadership to maintain quality, safety, cleanliness, and flowImplement and uphold all Barrel One Collective SOPs and hospitality standards, adjusting for each location's unique environmentUse operational tools (Toast, R365, Ottimate , Sling) to drive performance, accountability, forecasting, and labor efficiencySupport flawless execution of all events, activations, and seasonal offerings in collaboration with Events, Marketing, and Brewing teamsFinancial Accountability & Cost Management
Own full P&L responsibility across Harpoon Boston and Harpoon CommonMaintain discipline around labor scheduling, productivity, and variable labor targetsMonitor and manage food, beverage, and merchandise COGS with culinary and bar leadershipAnalyze KPIs weekly, identify trends, diagnose root causes, and implement action plansDrive revenue opportunities through programming, events, upselling, and operational optimizationGuest Experience & Service Standards
Lead by example during service, modeling warmth, attentiveness, and an elevated guest experienceEnsure consistent execution that reflects Harpoon's identity and the standards of Barrel One CollectiveManage guest feedback, resolve concerns promptly, and train teams on proactive hospitality behaviorsProtect product quality across both locations, ensuring consistency in food, beverage, and presentationMarketing, Programming & Community Engagement
Collaborate with B1C's Marketing team to strengthen brand presence and drive guest engagement at both locationsSupport the execution of local events, private bookings, and activations aligned with brand identityRepresent Harpoon Boston and Harpoon Common within the community and support relationships with key partners and stakeholdersAdministrative & Interdepartmental Coordination
Lead weekly manager meetings, pre-shifts, and internal communications at both sitesMaintain compliance with reporting, payroll, scheduling, and other administrative systemsCollaborate with the VP of Hospitality and peer leaders across B1C to share best practices and support company-wide initiativesSupport the rollout of new menus, programs, and training systems across New HampshireOther duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5+ years of progressive management experience in food, beverage, or brewery operations, with 3+ years in high-volume environments; multi-unit leadership experience strongly preferredDemonstrated success in leading teams, managing transitions, and sustaining high-performance operationsProven experience with P&L management, labor scheduling, and food and beverage cost controlsDeep understanding of hospitality principles and guest-first leadershipExperience with POS and management platforms (Toast, Sling , R365, or similar)Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsPassion for craft beer and building community through memorable guest experiencesAvailability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business hours as requiredWhy Join Harpoon
