At DHS, we take care of our employees so you can help care for others.\nPosition Information\n\nJob Series : Nurses – Career-path\n\nClassification : Licensed Practical Nurse\n\nClass Code : MNU01P\n\nPay Grade : MED02\n\nSalary Range : $53,558 - $79,266\n\nJob Summary\n\nThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides essential direct patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) and physicians. LPNs are responsible for assessing patient needs, assisting in care planning, and implementing various aspects of patient treatment.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities\n\nMonitor and record patient vital signs, symptoms, and medical history.\nAssist patients with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, and eating.\nAdminister prescribed medications and injections under supervision.\nAssist in wound care and other medical procedures as directed by an RN or physician.\nCommunicate with patients and families to provide care instructions and emotional support.\nDocument patient information accurately in electronic health records.\n\nKnowledge and Skills\n\nKnowledge of basic nursing practices and healthcare protocols.\nAbility to observe and document patient conditions accurately.\nCompetent in administering medications and performing basic treatments.\nStrong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\nCompletion of a state-approved practical nursing program. Current LPN licensure in Arkansas.\n\nSatisfaction of the minimum qualifications, including years of experience and service, does not entitle employees to automatic progression within the job series.
