Neonatology Physician Locums Job in Kentucky 24-Hour Call Ongoing Coverage Starting 12 / 11 / 2025 Assignment

Duration : 9 12 months

Reason for Coverage : Opening unit and recruiting permanent providers

Shift Description

Schedule : 24-hour call

Shift Times : 7 AM 7 AM

Call Details

Average Callback Hours : No data; site anticipates 4 5 hours depending on acuity

Level 2 currently closed; acuity expected to increase when open

Duty Requirements

Rounding on Level 2 Nursery and well baby nursery

Attend deliveries as requested for anticipated complications

Lead resuscitation

Care for infants 32 weeks gestation

License & Certification Requirements

Board Certification in Pediatrics Required (will accept lapsed Peds boards if Neonatology certs are active)

State License Required (IMLC not accepted)

Residency Required

Other Certifications : NRP and DEA required

Procedure Requirements

Circumcisions (preferred)

Intubation

UVC / USC placement

Surfactant administration

Must be comfortable with resuscitation and management of infants to 32 weeks gestation

Additional Details

Support Staff : RNs in special care nursery and well baby nursery

Credentialing : 90 days

Admissions : 90 deliveries / month

Patient Census : / day

Types of Cases : Regular newborn care, preterm infants ( 32 weeks), surfactant, CPAP, vapotherm, NAS infants

Well Baby Beds : 22

EMR : Epic
