eTeam Inc is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in New York, New York.

Job Description & Requirements

Duties : Job Summary :

Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Evaluating medical information, as well as providing direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients.
  • Preparing, administering and recording prescribed medications.
  • Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs.
  • Adjusting specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpreting and recording measurements.
  • Monitoring patients' vitals and reporting adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner.
  • Collaborating on discharge planning with the healthcare team.
  • Answering questions and educating patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care.
  • Maintaining and updating patient files, medical charts, and health records.
  • Adhering to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.

    • Skills :

    Required Skills & Experience :

  • Acute Facilities : Minimum two (2) years Med / Surg experience in a large acute care hospital setting. The most recent experience should be within the past year.
  • Post Acute Facilities : Minimum two (2) years Med / Surg experience in either Post Acute Facility or acute care hospital setting. The most recent experience should be within the past year.

    • Qualified candidates demonstrate proficiency with skills including :

  • Physical assessment.
  • Medication administration.
  • Wound care & Infection control.
  • IV therapy.
  • Post-operative care.
  • Patient education.
  • Telemetry monitoring.

    • Preferred Skills & Experience :

  • EPIC EMR experience.

    • Schedule Notes :

  • Minimum two (2) years Med / Surg experience in a large acute care hospital setting. - The most recent experience should be within the past year. - Please review responsibilities & skills needed. Required : - Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited educational institute. - Self-Assessment Skills Checklist and Specialty Exam for Med / Surg. - New York State RN License & Primary Source Verification. - AHA BLS. - Shift : 7 : 00 AM-7 : 30 PM - Rotating weekends is a requirement and workers must report as scheduled including holidays. - Please see the shift time, hours per week / day on the request and ensure your worker will be able to commit to the schedule provided by the facility.
