The Dining Services Team at Givens Estates, a premier nonprofit continuing care retirement community, is hiring for a PT Customer Service Specialist to help support our Dining Department. Reporting to our Assistant Dining Director, the primary purpose of this position is to create a warm and inviting dining experience for returning and new residents / guests. This person is often the first team member customers encounter and needs to possess superior interpersonal skills and enjoy interacting with a diverse customer base. This position is also the primary source of information regarding the menu and food offerings, and seeks opportunities to educate the diners on food options as well as promote new menu items and daily specials.

The schedule for this position is two weekdays per week from 3 : 00 - 7 : 30pm, and Saturday's from 10 : 45am - 2 : 30pm.

What you'll do :

  • Ensure that all orders for front of the house supplies are communicated to the Purchasing Coordinator as needed
  • Provide a high degree of organization to all areas under their direction
  • Maintains high quality customer service and is the primary person responsible for customer service
  • Ensures that front of the house is being maintained and cleaned in accordance with Buncombe County health department regulations
  • Maintains excellent communication with co-workers, Dining Leadership and other departments to ensure smooth and consistent operation of dining room and customer satisfaction
  • Subject to be called upon to provide coverage in other areas in the dining department
  • Perform any other duties and / or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor

What you'll need :

  • High School or GED equivalent is preferred
  • 1 years' experience in food service operations preferred
  • Knowledge to serve meals and / or beverages in an appealing and appetizing manner
  • Must know or have the ability to handle and operate equipment in assigned area
  • Compensation for this position is $17.00 - $18.50 per hour based on experience, plus benefits!
