Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Night Shift Stepdown / Intermediate Care position requiring a MI RN license and telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a 22-bed stepdown intermediate care unit in a hospital setting
  • Night shifts (4x12-hours, 19 : 00–07 : 30)
  • Float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
  • Weekend coverage required every other weekend
  • Call and holiday requirements include every other holiday
  • Uses Cerner Powerchart EMR; Cerner experience required
  • Provide care for intermediate-level acuity patients in a high-responsibility unit
  • Scrub color is Caribbean Blue
  • Pre-employment online learning modules (up to 8 hours) must be completed before start
  • Must adhere to strict standards of professional conduct; conduct issues may result in contract termination
  • Must be gone at least 3 years before returning as a traveler if previously employed
  • Up to 10 days of requested time off allowed; if requesting time off during holidays, must be available to work at least one of three holidays

    • Requirements

  • Active Michigan RN license required
  • Minimum of 2 years of stepdown or intermediate care nursing experience required
  • Certifications required : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (CPI preferred)
  • Experience with Cerner charting system required
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • May have pending certifications prior to start if willing to obtain required certs
