Advanced Practice Provider- Psychiatric PA

We are seeking an overnight Psychiatric Mental Health Psychiatric Physician Assistant (PPA) to care for adults facing acute psychiatric crises on our 40-bed inpatient unit. This is a dynamic clinical role that includes performing psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and acute care in the setting of a 40 bed adult acute inpatient psychiatric facility.   You’ll be supported by 24-hour physician coverage and a culture that prioritizes both patient care and provider well-being. Previous experience required.

Schedule : Full time overnight; 80 hours per pay period working five (5) 16 hour shifts, 4 : 00pm to 8 : 30am.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Master's degree with an advanced knowledge of nursing theory and practice, and additional medical training.
• 1+ years of patient care in a community mental health center or hospital.
• Advanced skill and knowledge in conducting psychiatric evaluations and treating patients.
• Current and valid license as a Physician Assistant by the Maine State Board of Licensure and qualified to do psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
• Specific credentialing criteria needed if working in the hospital as defined by Medical Staff By-Laws.
• 2+ years of patient care in an inpatient Medical Hospital is preferred.
