Description : JOB SUMMARY

Assist Physician with patient examination and treatment, responsible for patient histories, routine diagnostic procedures, as well as some clerical duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Facilitate patient care.
• Preliminary work-up : history, chief complaint, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil reactions, scope of vision, color vision, muscle movement, angle assessment
• Tonometry (Applanation, Tonopen, Icare).
• Diagnostic testing : OCT, Visual Fields, Fundus Photos.
• Administer drops under physician supervision.
• Take and explain tests, procedures, treatments, and diagnoses to patients.
• Maintain and stock all exam rooms.
• Clean and maintain all instruments.
• Assist physician in minor office surgery.
• Return and answer patient phone calls as needed.
