Job Description

This is a remote position.

Duration : 6 months (extension possible)

Hours : 40 hours per week

Location : Remote (Mexico or Colombia)

Reporting to : Senior Product Design Manager, Design Systems

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Design System Designer to help build, refine, and maintain the core components, design tokens, and documentation that our designers and engineers rely on daily.

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with lead designers and engineers to deliver pixel-perfect, accessible components in Figma , while partnering across teams to ensure seamless implementation. This position offers a chance to deeply engage in system-level design craft, strengthening foundational design systems and learning from a world-class, multi-platform product team.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Component & Token Design

  • Design, refine, and maintain core Figma components for mobile and web design libraries.
  • Translate visual identity elements—such as color, typography, motion, and spacing—into reusable, production-ready components.
  • Maintain visual and functional consistency across platforms.

Documentation & Collaboration

  • Develop and update component documentation, usage guides, and examples in Figma and Notion.
  • Work with engineers to validate design parity between design files and coded components.
  • Contribute to governance and QA processes that ensure quality and clarity across the system.

    • Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner with product and feature design teams to support app redesigns, web migrations, and localization efforts.
  • Identify and address component gaps or inconsistencies across surfaces.
  • Participate in design reviews and audits, flagging quality and accessibility concerns.

    • Accessibility & Quality Assurance

  • Apply accessibility best practices in all system updates and documentation.
  • Support WCAG 2.2 compliance through testing and QA.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to validate implementation fidelity.

    • Required Qualifications

    5+ years of product design experience, including 1–2 years focused on design systems or infrastructure.

    Expertise in Figma libraries (components, variants, and token structures).

    Proven ability to create scalable design systems across web or mobile (React / React Native experience preferred).

    Strong understanding of design-to-development workflows and cross-functional collaboration.

    Meticulous attention to visual and interaction detail while maintaining efficiency.

    Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1+).

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with Tokens Studio, Zeroheight, or Storybook.

    Background in large-scale product ecosystems.

    Interest in AI-assisted design tools (e.g., Figma Make, ChatGPT, Claude).

    Enthusiasm for motion design, localization, or theming systems.
