Security Guard - Shelter Site - Full Time

As a Security Guard - Shelter Site - Full Time in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated shelter locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a reassuring presence for residents and staff. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible, and delivering exceptional customer service through clear communication and support. Pay Rate : $16.50 / Hour

Job Schedule : Day Time

Monday 12 : 00 AM - 08 : 00 AM

Tuesday 12 : 00 AM - 08 : 00 AM

Friday 12 : 00 AM - 08 : 00 AM

Saturday 12 : 00 AM - 08 : 00 AM

Sunday 12 : 00 AM - 08 : 00 AM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients and residents by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the shelter environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and / or disturbances.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential issues and provide reassurance to residents and staff.
  • Assist residents, visitors, and staff with inquiries and directions as needed.
  • Document incidents and daily activities according to site protocols.

  • Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
  • A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Experience with access control and / or badge systems is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
