- Working in contract role in a local acute facility for a designated time period (usually 10-15 weeks)\n
- Planning and managing routine patient care at acute facilities\n
- Being accountable to follow and adhere to patient care plans\n
- Evaluating the condition and needs of patients and providing timely reports to medical staff\n
- Taking and monitoring the vital signs of patients and ensuring timely documentation\n
- Providing basic medical tasks, such as medication administration, to assist the nursing team and medical staff\n
- Applying and changing dressings and bandages to ensure the proper healing of wounds\n
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment and the comfort of each patient with support for daily activities such as bathing, feeding, and dressing\n
- Assisting patients with ambulation and movements to and from wheelchairs, beds, and stretchers\n
- Monitoring urinary and other catheters to ensure proper drainage\n
- Communicating with patients and family members to explain treatments and procedures\n
- Ensuring updated and accurate patient records and protecting the confidentiality of patient information\n\nQualifications and Skills\n
- Active, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license for Kentucky\n
- 6 months of LPN practice experience\n
- Successful completion of all state required training and / or state-sanctioned competency exam(s)\n
- BLS certified by the American Heart Association\n
- Immunizations as required\n
