Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details Location : Leonardtown, Maryland (20650) – Southern Maryland healthcare jobs Unit : Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Duration : 16 weeks Start Date : November 17, 2025 End Date : March 9, 2026 Shift : 12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM), 3 shifts per week Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,590 - $1,710 Patient Ratio : 1 : 4-6 Scrubs : Caribbean blue (not provided) Flu Vaccine : Required (no exemptions) Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license in Maryland or compact state (Maryland nursing jobs) Minimum 2 years of recent IMC / Cardiac Stepdown nursing experience Previous Charge Nurse experience required Certifications : ACLS, BLS (American Heart Association) Proficiency with chest tubes, PCA infusions, bedside cardiac monitoring, non-titratable drips, IV infusions Ability to manage patient ratios of 1 : 4-6 Two supervisor references required Flu vaccine required First-time travel nurses welcome Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Deliver direct nursing care to adult patients with cardiac, respiratory, and complex medical diagnoses (CHF, diabetes, COPD / asthma, sepsis, pneumothorax, ESRD / dialysis, hypertension / hypotension, ETOH withdrawal, post-surgical cases) Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias Manage chest tubes, central and peripheral lines, PCA infusions, and non-titratable cardiac drips Perform bedside monitoring and operate specialized equipment (ultrasound IV, cardiac monitoring, lift equipment) Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Social Services, Radiology) Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to isolation precautions and hospital protocols Participate in weekend coverage as needed Discover rewarding travel nursing jobs in Maryland and make a difference in Leonardtown's community hospital.
