Job Summary :

Inspects and oversees all production line inspections of all finished goods manufactured in the filling area. Cross train in other areas of the QC Department.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Perform product sign-offs on filling lines.
  • Perform ANSI / ASQC Level II inspection on each lot of finished goods for conformance to manufacturing instructions and specification.
  • Experience as a QC line inspector or machine operator helpful.
  • Approval / rejection of finished goods based upon results of inspections and communication to QC Supervisor / Manager.
  • Perform work using good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in the English language.
  • Person must have a history of good attendance.
  • Basis mathematics required (calculations in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages)
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation without posing a direct threat to the individual or others.

Requires ability to lift up to 50lb shippers regularly.

  • Must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and use of tools.
  • Performs clerical tasks in the laboratories.
  • Performs assigned tasks in the Production area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

    Knowledge & Skills :

  • Perform inspections with a high level of accuracy.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
  • Perform work using good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Write legibly.
  • Communicate by written and / or verbally means the nature of discrepancies and defects of the inspected materials.
  • Basic knowledge of personal computers helpful.
  • Work with minimum supervision.
  • Lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and use of tools.
  • Perform essential duties and responsibilities efficiently, accurately and safely.
  • Climb stairs.
  • Education / Experience :

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 or more years of warehouse experience
  • Machinery Operated

  • Pallet jack
  • Tape gun
  • Hand tools
  • Viscometer
  • pH meter
  • Balance / Scale
  • Vacuum Pump
  • Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand
  • Occasionally / frequently required to walk
  • Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • Regularly reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally / frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Frequently required to lift and / or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally required to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Work Environment

  • Regularly required to work in areas where chemical materials are encountered
  • Regularly required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
  • May involve exposure to shop environment including variable noise levels
  • Must customarily have a high consciousness for personnel and equipment safety
