This role is ideal for nurses who are detail-oriented, compassionate, and skilled in providing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures. Assist physicians with endoscopy procedures including colonoscopies, upper GI endoscopies, and other related interventions. Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition during procedures. Administer medications and sedation as prescribed, ensuring patient safety. Educate patients and families on procedure preparation, recovery, and follow-up care. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in accordance with hospital policies. Maintain and ensure proper functioning of endoscopy equipment. Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and confidentiality standards. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state. Minimum of 2 years recent endoscopy or perioperative nursing experience preferred. BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred. Strong clinical skills in procedural and patient monitoring. Excellent communication and patient support skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
