Quality Control Technician – Neptune, NJ
Location : Neptune, NJ
Schedule : Monday–Friday, 7 : 00 AM – 3 : 30 PM (with occasional weekend shifts as needed)
Reports To : Quality Control Manager
Pay Rate : $18.00 – $22.00 per hour (based on experience)
Position Summary
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our food manufacturing team in Neptune, NJ. This position plays a key role in maintaining the highest standards of product quality, food safety, and compliance. The Quality Control Technician will perform inspections, testing, and documentation to ensure that all molded and manufactured products meet company and regulatory specifications.

Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed inspections of raw materials, molded products, and finished goods for defects, contamination, or non-conformities.
Conduct in-process quality checks throughout production shifts to ensure products meet all specifications.
Operate and maintain testing equipment for water activity, moisture control, and other food safety parameters.
Verify that all inspection and testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
Accurately record and maintain inspection results, test data, and quality reports.
Identify and reject any materials or products that fail to meet established quality standards.
Work closely with production and sanitation teams to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Conduct pre-operational inspections and ATP swabbing after sanitation to verify readiness for production.
Provide feedback and suggestions to improve production processes and quality control systems.
Complete and submit daily QC status reports to management.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on food safety, product consistency, and efficiency.
Follow all safety procedures, CCPs, and food safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent required; quality control or food safety certification preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a food manufacturing or quality assurance environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong understanding of quality testing methods, GMP, and food safety regulations.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods; occasional sitting for paperwork or testing tasks.
Must be able to lift up to 48 pounds while wearing required PPE.
