Architects company specific systems and technology expertise across multiple infrastructure and development disciplines.
Applies and promotes key principles (e.g. stability, scalability, performance, security, compatibility, re-use), helping ensure a balance between tactical and strategic technology solutions. Considers business problems “end-to-end” : including people, process, and technology, both within and outside the enterprise, as part of any design solution. Promotes use of industry and enterprise technology standards. Monitors emerging technologies for potential application within or across the Corporation. Adheres to design and application development standards, methodology and, framework within Architectural compliance and governance.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Establishes architectural guardrails, CI / CD enforcement controls, and design validation criteria to maintain platform integrity and operational excellence.
Evaluates solution proposals for standardization, security alignment (e.g., RBAC, data masking), cost optimization, and interoperability within the Data Lakehouse ecosystem.
Champions the integration of FinOps, data lineage, and auditability standards into every phase of the solution design lifecycle.
Continuously assesses and updates architecture maturity models and ARB playbooks, fostering continuous improvement and architectural discipline.
Serves as a key advisor to project and portfolio governance teams, helping prioritize and resolve architectural exceptions, deviations, and strategic trade-offs.
Defines and enforces architecture principles, standards, and controls related to data ingestion, processing, storage, metadata, security, and access patterns in cloud-native lakehouse implementations.
Ensures alignment of architecture decisions with enterprise data strategy, governance, compliance frameworks, and platform standards.
Facilitates cross-functional design reviews and owns the ARB intake, evaluation, and feedback process, enabling structured approval workflows for new initiatives and design changes.
Maintains and evolves reference architectures, solution blueprints, and decision logs, ensuring traceability and reuse across projects.
Communicates architectural intent and decisions effectively to executive stakeholders, governance bodies, and technical teams, driving alignment and transparency.
Leads solution architecture reviews and approvals as part of the Architecture Review Board (ARB) function for Data Lakehouse platforms across the enterprise.
Collaborates with platform owners, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to evaluate design consistency, risk posture, and architectural completeness.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
5+ years of experience in enterprise architecture or solution architecture roles, with direct involvement in ARB, governance, or standards oversight.
Extensive hands-on and review experience with Data Lakehouse architectures on platforms like Azure (ADLS, Databricks, Purview)
Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and familiarity with governance tools and architecture repositories.
Demonstrated experience implementing and reviewing architecture standards for data ingestion pipelines, structured / unstructured storage layers, metadata systems, and security frameworks.
Working knowledge of CI / CD, DevOps practices, and tools used to enforce architectural guardrails and quality gates.
Experience with data governance tools and catalogs (e.g., Unity Catalog, Microsoft Purview, Collibra) and integration into ARB review processes.
Familiarity with compliance standards and regulatory needs (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2) within data platforms
Strong ability to assess technical architecture for scalability, reusability, cost efficiency, and alignment with platform capabilities.
Skilled in conducting peer reviews, leading technical design discussions, and writing detailed evaluation reports or exceptions summaries.
Cloud architecture certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Databricks Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional) are strongly preferred.
Multiple projects Architecture experience.
Experience in regulated or data-sensitive industries such as healthcare, finance, or government is a plus.
