HonorVet Technologies is seeking a local contract nurse Correctional for a local contract nursing job in Cape Vincent, New York.

Job Description & Requirements

  • Specialty : Correctional

  • Duration : 52 weeks
  • 40 hours per week
  • Shift : 8 hours, evenings, nights
  • Employment Type : Local Contract

Location -  Cape Vincent, NY 13618

Duration - 12+ months

Shift time -  2 : 00 pm-10 : 00 pm & 10 : 00 pm-6 : 00 am.

Must have active NY Registered Nurse License

Job description

Responsibilities :

  • Diagnose and treat patients’ health problems in accordance with medical standards.
  • Perform comprehensive health assessments to identify new or undiagnosed conditions and complications.
  • Administer prescribed medications safely and accurately.
  • Provide restorative and palliative care to ill, disabled, and terminally ill patients.
  • Educate and counsel patients on health maintenance, illness prevention, and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team to plan and implement patient care.
  • Serve as a consultant on healthcare committees and contribute to the development of care programs.
  • Execute medical regimens prescribed by licensed physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, podiatrists, or dentists.
  • Practice advanced nursing care for those with post-basic specialized education (e.g., clinical nurse specialists, certified nurse midwives, nurse anesthetists).
  • Maintain a valid New York State RN license with at least one year of post-licensure experience.

    • Work Environment :

  • Facility : Correctional Facility (Medium Security).
  • Setting : Secured correctional environment.
  • Shifts : Miscellaneous; primarily evenings with some midnight coverage.
  • Weekend requirement : Up to 2 weekends per month.
  • Key skills : Strong assessment skills, EKG performance, and blood draws.
