Contract Position through Third Party

Responsible for performing administrative support duties within the assigned area.  Responsibilities are specific to the job location (i.e. plant, department, etc.).

Expected to align personal goals with OVEC / IKEC Strategic Business Plan, it’s the Mission, Vision and Values, as well as its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts.

Employees are expected to actively support the OVEC-IKEC Strategic Plan .  Listed below are the five sections of the plan and a brief overview of each.

    Key Responsibilities

    Position Summary

    The Augmented Administrative Associate performs a range of administrative duties of varying complexity, dependent upon experience and education. Responsibilities may include more advanced and accountable tasks requiring sound judgment and attention to detail. Work is performed under supervision and in accordance with established procedures and company policies.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Execute routine administrative tasks following clearly defined procedures.
  • Compile and review reports, including Maximo system outputs; ensure necessary corrections are made.
  • Support document processing, proofreading, ledger posting, data sorting, summarization, and calculations.
  • Manage filing systems and retrieve information in both physical and electronic formats.
  • Assist in preparing departmental reports and correspondence.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing communications : answer phones, take messages, manage email correspondence, and distribute mail.
  • Enter data using computer and operate various office equipment (e.g., printers, copiers, scanners).
  • Adhere to company procedures, safety rules, and operational standards.
  • Report irregularities and abnormal conditions promptly.
  • Collaborate with staff members and assist in training peers or new employees.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company data and information.
  • Perform similar or lower-level duties as required to support departmental operations.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Must possess a working knowledge of software used by the Company; possess the ability to organize data and processes and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Through a combination of education and / or experience, must have sufficient knowledge and skills to perform the duties and / or responsibilities listed above as well as the ability to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the duties and / or responsibilities of a higher classification in the line of promotion.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Computer skills and clerical experience preferred .

    This is a contract position and is not eligible for full-time benefits equivalent to that of a regular employee.  However, as an augmented employee, the successful candidate will be eligible for :

  • After successful completion of a probationary period.
  • Ohio Valley Electric Corporation (OVEC) and its wholly owned subsidiary, Indiana-Kentucky Electric Corporation (IKEC), were organized on October 1, 1952.  The Companies were formed by investor-owned utilities furnishing electric service in the Ohio River Valley area and their parent holding companies for the purpose of providing the large electric power requirements projected for the uranium enrichment facilities then under construction by the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) near Portsmouth, Ohio.  OVEC, AEC and OVEC’s owners or their utility company affiliates (called Sponsoring Companies) entered into power agreements to ensure the availability of the AEC’s substantial power requirements. On October 15, 1952, OVEC and AEC executed a 25-year agreement, which was later extended through December 31, 2005 under a Department of Energy (DOE) Power Agreement. On September 29, 2000, the DOE gave OVEC notice of cancellation of the DOE Power Agreement. On April 30, 2003, the DOE Power Agreement terminated in accordance with the notice of cancellation.  OVEC and the Sponsoring Companies signed an Inter-Company Power Agreement (ICPA) on July 10, 1953, to support the DOE Power Agreement and provide for excess energy sales to the Sponsoring Companies of power not utilized by the DOE or its predecessors. Since the termination of the DOE Power Agreement on April 30, 2003, OVEC’s entire generating capacity has been available to the Sponsoring Companies under the terms of the ICPA. The Sponsoring Companies and OVEC entered into an Amended and Restated ICPA, effective as of August 11, 2011, which extends its term to June 30, 2040.
