Descripción del trabajoBasic knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in construction work. Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule. Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely. Can follow and transmit written and oral instructions. Responsible to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
Summary of Position :
Perform tasks involving physical labor with heavy construction projects or shop duties. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, and remove waste materials. May assist operators.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy / highway construction projects and / or oilfield projects.
- Perform manual work in preparing surfaces, ditches, culverts or other areas.
- Shovel dirt within construction area as defined by grade fill specifications given by foreman / operator.
- Maintain a clean job site; pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
- Load and unload material manually, haul and hoist materials (pipe, box culverts, supplies).
- Shop maintenance or flagging duties when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
