AGENCY SUMMARY :

Applewood Centers is a dedicated nonprofit organization providing essential mental health services, social services, and education to children, adolescents, and families. Our mission focuses on addressing various behavioral, emotional, and learning challenges, ensuring a continuum of care from outpatient counseling to residential treatment.

POSITION SUMMARY :

As an Intensive Home-Based Treatment (IHBT) Therapist, you will play a vital role under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, delivering individual and family assessments, psychotherapy, and therapeutic behavioral services (TBS) in the home and community settings. You will manage a small caseload of clients for 3 to 6 months, collaborating with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and other referral sources. Flexibility in work hours, including some evenings, is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :

  • Participate in weekly team consultations and ongoing training.
  • Engage in individual or group supervision with clinical supervisors.
  • Deliver IHBT services tailored to client needs, following the IHBT model.
  • Achieve and maintain annual CANS certification for assessments and referrals.
  • Develop measurable Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs) that align with client and family needs.
  • Collaborate with clients in crafting crisis plans and providing necessary crisis intervention.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with families to enhance engagement.
  • Identify family system challenges and apply appropriate interventions.
  • Coordinate with other professionals and identify referrals for effective support.
  • Support skill development in interpersonal relationships, anger management, and coping strategies.
  • Provide necessary support to clients and school staff upon request.
  • Meet productivity expectations set for IHBT staff.
  • Form collaborative relationships with community resources and professionals.
  • Advocate for clients and families to secure required services and resources.
  • Uphold professionalism with clients and families, ensuring respect and ethical standards.
  • Regularly close cases and complete discharge and aftercare plans efficiently.
  • Maintain flexible scheduling for evening appointments as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with supervisory signatures per licensing guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • Current LSW, LPC, or MFT license is required.
  • Preferred training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and assessment skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to work evenings and occasional weekends.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • EXPERIENCE :

  • Experience providing mental health services to children and families in home-based or community settings.
  • Background working with families facing complex challenges such as trauma and poverty.
  • SALARY AND BENEFITS :
