American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Auburn, New York.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele float position in New York requiring NY RN licensure and strong tele monitoring skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

Work in a community hospital setting with a 90-bed capacity

Assignment on Med / Surg Tele unit with required floating to other units as needed

Patient ratio is 1 : 6-7

Shifts are 12 hours from 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 30 PM

Must work every other weekend

No IV team on site; IV experience required

Proctored EKG exam conducted on Day 1

Uses Paragon EMR system

Must be willing to float to any unit within scope of practice

Flu vaccination required or declination with mask; flu vaccine deadline is 10 / 31

COVID vaccine not required; proof or declination accepted

Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the contract at their discretion

Local travelers within 60 miles may apply

\n \n Requirements\n

Active NY RN license required

Minimum 2 years of Med / Surg Tele RN experience

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

NIHSS certification required prior to start

6 CEUs in stroke-related topics required prior to start

Ability to interpret own telemetry strips

IV insertion and maintenance experience required

Travel nursing experience preferred
